Reserve Matinee is proud to present 'Poem For Social Dropouts', the latest release from Empathic Window aka Fay Scratch of Pennsylvania. This is a fun and heavy one - for the true Coners.

from the artist:

"The base sounds used in the making of these tracks are sourced from Vocaroo "share your voice" threads from 4chan's /r9k/, /b/ and /v/ boards in November 2018, alongside a handful of samples used in the production of more conventional E/W tracks. The "cut-up noise" effect patches in Jeskola Buzz used to create these tracks were made sometime around April or May 2018, in Denver, CO. These patches were then "performed" in early December, in Cedar Rapids, IA.

"Poems For Social Dropouts" is meant to be a voyeuristic, but perhaps thematically tame, look at what is considered to be the worst of the worst culture on the Internet. For better or for worse, I've spent way too much time on these boards when I was a young internet citizen. Going into 2019 and forward, my Empathic Window project seeks to take surveillance of internet subcultures, chat rooms, voice chats, gaming lobbies, in-person moments, and virtual live actions and filter it through the sonic aesthetics of "shitnoise"."
