Reserve Matinee is happy to present you with the debut physical release of Dog Dog, the solo recording guise of Ed Stuparitz. A newly beloved member of the extended Chicago RM family and a deep producer in his own right, Ed cut his teeth in electronic music through the eclectic yet tight-knit club scene in Denver, Colorado. A talented visual artist, Stuparitz sees the world in a kaleidoscopic way, a detail-oriented vision that can be clearly heard on 'Beware of The Dog Dog'. The tape starts out with a cacophonous cluster of sound that is both dense and liquid in nature. The last five minutes of the A side dial down to a somber and syrupy gesture, featuring keyboard bathed in a long-tailed reverb. The Midwest depth of xone continues. "Ruff Stuff" makes up the B side and continues the cassette-baked melodies we came to know, conjuring the spirit of earlier Casino Versus Japan albums. The album eventually breaks into its tape-defining groove, with patient rattling drums and a synth lead that's bound to get stuck in your head.
